Personal Finance is all about your money. How you manage your finances best, invest, save, and spend. It?s about individuals and their personal/family needs. It would address such things as managing your credit card debt or paying your taxes (the least legally allowed) and sometimes evaluating your income/expense ratios and budget. Personal finance would address how you plan to pay for this course and whether it?s a good idea to finance it with student loans and if so, which sort.
Financial Management (aka Finance) is about corporate money. How a company should manage the finances best with things like funding new plants and facilities or adjusting shift/employment levels to accomplish corporate money goals. It?s all about how we go about getting our product to market with the idea of maximum profitability. Financial Management would address how your college plans to pay for that new degree they hope to launch next year and whether they should fund it with a bond issue (for example) and if so, which sort.
While the two are related in a sense, they approach money from different perspectives.
